Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a modality where therapists help their clients gain awareness to how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are connected.

CBT for many practitioners is considered the gold-standard for treating anxiety and depressive disorders. Indeed, it enjoys a solid evidence base for its use in generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, phobias, depression, and panic disorder.

Dune Psychotherapy specializes in providing CBT for specific problems: our first step is assessing and understanding how YOU experience anxiety and depression. From there, we move into treating a specific problem with a targeted treatment plan.

CBT is structured: both within session and across sessions. This means that you do not have to come to therapy thinking, “what are we going to talk about for 55 minutes.” Time moves fast when sessions flow with structure and ease. You can expect me to orient you to the CBT model and co-create a treatment plan.
